Does the Y chromosome in Klinefelters syndrome look like X chromosome?
In Klinefelter syndrome, the additional sex chromosome present is an extra copy of the X chromosome, resulting in the karyotype 47,XXY. Therefore, the additional sex chromosome would have features typical of an X chromosome and not resemble the Y chromosome. The presence of one normal X chromosome along with the additional one may influence the morphology and gene expression patterns of the extra X chromosome, but it does not transform it into a Y chromosome.
