Is Disease caused by heredity?
Not all diseases are caused by heredity. While some diseases have a genetic component, many others are caused by various factors such as infections, lifestyle choices, environmental exposure, and accidents. The contribution of heredity to disease development can vary, ranging from completely determined by genetic factors (e.g., certain rare genetic disorders), to influenced by genetic susceptibility or genetic risk factors (e.g., some forms of cancer, heart disease, diabetes), to not having a significant genetic component (e.g., infectious diseases). Therefore, saying that all diseases are caused by heredity is inaccurate. Genetics plays a complex role in health and disease, but it is one aspect among many that contribute to overall health outcomes.
