Talk to your child's doctor. If asked, they will probably give you a long list of available resources in your area. Your hospital or medical care facility may even offer support groups and/or therapy for family members dealing with a child with Down syndrome.

Find online support groups and forums such as on the website Down Syndrome: For New Parents and Uno Mas! Down Syndrome Online. The benefit to using forums is you can vent any frustrations you may be feeling anonymously and you can get support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Go online. There are many resources for families dealing with Down syndrome such as the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), and Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation (DSRTF).

Look locally. There are many different organizations that provide resources, probably in your home towns. Some of the most well known are the Riverbend Down Syndrome Parent Support Group in Illinois and Down Syndrome Association of Hampton Roads in Norfolk, VA.

Visit your local bookstore or Amazon for additional resources. There are many books about Down syndrome, many written by parents and family members of children with Down syndrome.
