Can you get gonorrhea from someone who have it?
* Men: pain or burning sensation when urinating, discharge from the penis (not related to ejaculation), swollen or painful testicles
* Women: pain or burning sensation when urinating, increased vaginal discharge, abnormal uterine bleeding, lower abdominal pain
* Both men and women: sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, anal itching or pain, eye inflammation
Gonorrhea can also be spread to an infant during childbirth if the mother is infected.
Gonorrhea can be treated with antibiotics. Early diagnosis and treatment is important to prevent serious complications, such as infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and ectopic pregnancy. If you think you may have gonorrhea, it is important to see a doctor right away.
