Be on the look out for pus-like discharge coming from the tip of the **** or excessive vaginal discharge in women. Discharge is normally most common in the morning. Yellow staining in the underwear is a telltale sign of discharge. Most of the time you will notice a yellow, milky colored secretion, but sometimes blood will be present.

Watch for painful itching of the genital area. This is the most common symptom and can be extremely discomforting.

If your a women, look out for vaginal bleeding during of after sex. Lower abdominal pain is also a sign of gonorrhea.

Go to your local doctors office or free clinic and get tested. Normal std gonorrhea testing is done through a urine sample and is painless. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are tested for in a combined test. For gonorrhea treatment, you will be prescribed antibiotics. Make sure you take them according to the directions. Avoid any sexual contact until you have completed your medication completely.
