1
Get on birth control. Birth control is the most widely used form of treatment for PCOS because it regulates hormone levels and lowers the risk for endometriosis.
-
2
Take medicine to reduce insulin levels in the body. In some cases medicine may be necessary to reduce the insulin levels to treat PCOS, particularly in women with pre-diabetes or diabetes.
-
3
Remove excess hair with waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolosis. If excess hair growth is an issue for you there are many ways to remove it. Medication may even be available to stop the rapid hair growth.
-
4
See a dermatologist to treat acne. If acne remains a problem that topical creams and ointments cannot cure a dermatologist will be able to offer you more treatment options.
-
5
Get plenty of exercise. Exercise and a healthy diet used in conjunction with other treatment options will also help to alleviate PCOS.
