Polymenorrhea is a condition that can affect women of almost any age; in it, menstrual periods occur more frequently than normal. This condition has a number of causes that can be treated.-

For most girls, puberty begins between the ages of 9 and 14, and lasts until about the age of 18. Although polymenorrhea is uncommon during puberty, it can occur under certain conditions.

Polymenorrhea is a condition in which a period occurs every two to three weeks instead of every four weeks, as is the average. This condition can lead to health problems due to blood loss.
Causes

Polymenorrhea has similar causes for girls in puberty as well as adult women. If the anterior pituitary gland is hyperactive, it can cause rapid ovulation. Additionally, malnutrition and pelvic disorders can lead to polymenorrhea.
Treatment

Anemia medication, improved diet, medication and treatment of any pelvic or nutritional disorder can all help to treat polymenorrhea. In some cases, estrogen or progesterone therapy may be necessary.
Considerations

If a young women begins to experience polymenorrhea, she must see a gynecologist. Some irregularity in periods is normal for pubescent girls, but if the condition persists, medical intervention may become necessary.
