One Day Remedy for Yeast Infection
Yeast infections are caused by a fungus called candida albicans. This type of infection is bothersome, and anyone who has suffered from it knows how desirable instant relief is. There are many over-the-counter products that can be used for a yeast infection, and there are also quite a few home remedies that can be utilized for relief within 24 hours.-
Douche
-
Use a combination of apple cider vinegar and garlic to make a douche. Take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it with eight ounces of water. Then take one freshly peeled garlic clove and place it in the liquid. Garlic contains yeast-fighting enzymes that work quickly when applied topically. Let this concoction sit for at least half an hour then remove the garlic clove and use it as a douche. This procedure should occur twice a day and can be effective at getting rid of a yeast infection within 24 to 48 hours.
Creative Uses For Tampons
-
Tampons are generally used for only one purpose, but that is not true in the case of a yeast infection. There are a few homeopathic remedies that can be used on tampons to remedy a yeast infection, fast. Try using plain yogurt. Yogurt contains acidophilus, which naturally fights fungi. Cover a tampon in plain yogurt and insert into the vagina as normal. Leave it in for an hour, remove and discard. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening. Tea tree oil is another essential oil that can be used to clear a yeast infection. Place at least four drops of tea tree oil on a tampon, insert and leave in overnight. Remove it in the morning and discard.
As unusual as it may seem, you can use a clove of garlic as you would a tampon. Wrap the clove in a piece of cheesecloth, tie the end with dental floss, and insert into vagina as if it were a tampon. It can be left in overnight and removed in the morning.
Over-the-Counter Treatment
-
If home remedies do not work, or the thought of using these techniques make you uneasy, there are plenty of over-the-counter yeast infections treatments at the local drug store. Follow the instruction on the label, but also use other methods to speed up the healing process. Wear cotton underwear that will absorb excess moisture. Do not wear nylon or Lycra undies because they trap air and moisture, making the vaginal area a perfect breeding ground for yeast and bacteria. Also, do not use feminine deodorant sprays or any fragrant body sprays during a yeast infection. They can cause irritation that promotes an infection and delays healing time.
