How to Decrease Fibroids
Fibroids are benign tumors that grow in the smooth muscle cells of the uterine wall. Approximately 40 percent of women have at least one fibroid present by the time they reach menopause. Fibroids commonly occur in women between the ages of 25 and 40. They're usually controlled by hormone replacement therapy, changes in the diet or surgically removed. Fibroids used to be the number one reason why hysterectomies--surgical removal of the uterus--were performed. There are measures you can take to decrease the number or even the chance of fibroids occurring in your menopausal years.Instructions

1
Eliminate white foods such as white rice, white bread, pasta, cookies and cake. Fibroids occur more often in women who eat these products due to a connection between insulin, estrogen and the diet.

2
Find alternatives to synthetic hormones. Phytoestrogens are a great alternative and found in soy and flax products. Over-the-counter products now include these agents as the main ingredient in controlling symptoms of menopause. They work by blocking the production of excess estrogen.

3
Consider the power of herbs. Black cohosh and chasteberry have been used by women for an array of gynecological symptoms for centuries.
