Hair Growth Recipes

Hair typically grows one-half inch per month. It grows at the same rate all over our scalp. Cell divisions are the process which causes hair to grow. There are roughly 100,000 hairs present on a healthy scalp. As we age the growth of hair slows down.
  1. Diet

    • Proper nutrition is crucial to the facilitation of hair growth. Eat foods high in protein, including meat, fish, eggs, milk and cheese. Protein is responsible for our bodies' cell development, including hair cells. Eat fruits and vegetables that have high levels of vitamin A and vitamin C. These vitamins support oil glands in the scalp, which are responsible for lubricating hair follicles. Consume vitamin B and vitamin E supplements, which promote blood circulation to the scalp for hair growth.

    Hair Care

    • Establishing a hair care regimen is beneficial to growth. Use a mild shampoo and conditioner to remove excess oils from hair shafts. Trim the ends every two months. Trimming unhealthy ends actually makes hair grow faster. Use a hot oil treatment on scalp weekly to stimulate hair follicles. This also supports healthier hair growth.
