How to Choose a shampoo for thinning hair
The first signs of thinning hair are often noticed in the shower after shampooing. You look into your hands and find enough hair to begin to wonder if there is any left on your head at all. Though it is natural to have some hair fall, the wrong shampoo can often worsen the situation by drying your scalp, clogging follicles and even accelerating thinning hair. Here are steps for choosing a shampoo for thinning hair.Instructions

1
Read product labels. If you find that your shampoo contains sodium lauryl sulfate you may wish to consider something gentler. If you find that your hair feels squeaky clean, it is because this chemical in your shampoo has literally washed out all of your hair's natural oils. These oils protect, moisturize, and nourish the scalp. Try finding a shampoo in a natural food store and ask for soap-free shampoos. These will often be far gentler to your scalp and your hair and will often be the best shampoos for thinning hair.

Choose a shampoo that has herbs that promote hair restoration. The best of these herbs are rosemary, mint, tea tree oil, and horsetail. Many shampoos for thinning hair have these as an ingredient and are known for their hair thickening properties.

Stop washing your hair so much. Even if you find a great shampoo for thinning hair, try to reduce how many times you actually use it. You will find your hair to be shinier, and begin to get thicker if you leave it without washing for a day or two. Each person is different, but most of us can stand to skip washing our hair for at least a day or two, and maybe even more.
