Is Aloe Vera a Hair Loss Remedy?
Waking up with hair on your pillow is an unwelcome sight. Hair loss is a problem that affects millions of men and women worldwide. Many remedies are out there for treating this condition, from surgery to medication to home remedies. Some people claim that aloe vera, when applied to the scalp, promotes healthy hair retention.-

Aloe vera has several medical purposes. It is used worldwide for treating burns, infections, and wounds. It can alleviate dermatological conditions such as redness and rashes. Some claim that by restoring moisture to the scalp, aloe vera can prevent hair loss. It is claimed that Native Americans used the plant in this way with great success.
However, no medical research supports aloe vera as a hair loss remedy. Hair loss can be caused by a number of factors, such as age, heredity pattern baldness, alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease), stress-inducing hairstyles (traction alopecia), or intense emotional stress. Aloe vera addresses none of these concerns.
The product likely will improve the condition of the scalp and reduce dandruff, but this has little to no effect on hair retention. Instead, try proven medical treatments such as Propecia or Rogaine to treat hair loss.
