Cold Fusion Hair Technique
People who suffer from hair loss due to age, cancer treatment or alopecia can benefit from getting hair extensions. One of the methods for ensuring that extensions stay attached is using the cold fusion hair technique. This new method will give you thicker and lengthier hair extensions that will stay on longer.-

Hair extensions can be made from either synthetic or natural hair. They provide thick texture, deeper color and longer hair. Some traditional ways of attaching extensions are either by gluing or sewing them into the hair. The downside to these methods is that they cause a lot of wear and tear on the hair shaft that they are attached to and take several hours to be attached. Two newer methods--both hot fusion and cold fusion--were invented to remedy this problem. Both procedures take roughly 15 minutes to apply and last roughly six months.

Cold fusion consists of using a substance called keratin-based polymer, which attaches the hair extension to the scalp. This polymer creates a flexible and invisible bond to the natural hair shaft and it gives the hair a more natural look, rather than the dry and stiff results associated with other hair extension methods.
Ultrasound waves are used on the area where the keratin meets the hair shaft. The mechanical energy and vibration generated forms a stronger bond from the hair extension to the natural hair than any other method.
People choose this method over heat fusion, because the heat fusion process uses a hot glue gun that can burn the scalp. In addition, the cold fusion technique allows you to add hair to the front of the head. Another upside to cold fusion is the easy process of removing the hair extensions. A depolymerizing lotion is used to dissolve the polymer. This method is far removed from the pain and hair damage that can be caused by taking out hair extensions that have been sewn into tnatural hair.

Cold fusion is a costlier method than other hair extension techniques. It can run between $125 to $1,200 dollars for a treatment. Find a professional hair stylist in your area who is very familiar with cold fusion. If you are going to spend this amount of money, you want your stylist to know what she is doing.
Ask to see a portfolio of other cold hair fusion clients. Get an estimate of how much it's going to cost before making an appointment. Be sure to interview a few hair stylists to get an idea of the cost of cold fusion in your area. Bring pictures of what you want the finished result to be. Don't go to the cheapest just to save money. Cold fusion hair extensions should last at least four months.
