Symptoms of Thinning Hair

Thinning hair is a condition that takes place in both men and women. Some common reasons for it are heredity, hormonal issues or side effects from other conditions. When it does start to happen, there are some symptoms that can be recognized.
  1. Baldness

    • Areas on the sides of the temple and on the top back part of the head can become bald.

    Drain

    • Another sign of thinning would be finding a small clump of hair in the drain after taking a shower. This may also be seen in the sink if you wash your hair there.

    Temperature

    • After your hair starts thinning, you may start to notice your head gets colder faster when you are outside.

    Dandruff

    • When your hair starts to thin, the scalp tends to get dryer and flaking can develop. This can appear as dandruff.

    Places

    • Another sign of thinning hair is finding it in various places such as your pillow, your clothes and your car seat, especially if you haven't noticed this before.

    Brush

    • When you are grooming your hair, you will notice more hair clumping up in your brush or comb.
