Instructions

    • 1

Gather the supplies and materials you will need to prepare the treatment so that you will have them handy when you begin.

    • 2

Clean and rinse your lentils in cool water, making sure that they are completely clean. Put your freshly rinsed lentils into a glass and fill the rest of the glass with water. Let the lentils soak for at least half an hour.

    • 3

Peel the rind off the orange. Save the peeled orange for cooking or eating. Place the peeled orange rinds into the small saucepan and pour in enough water to cover them. Cover the pan and place it on the stove over high heat. Boil for 5 to 10 minutes.

    • 4

Use tongs or a slotted spoon to remove the orange rinds from the pot of boiling water and set the rinds aside. Strain the water from the soaking lentils into a small bowl, setting the lentils aside as well. Pour the water from boiling the orange rinds into the bowl and stir well to combine the two waters.

    • 5

Shampoo and rinse your hair as you normally would. Next, instead of using conditioner after your final rinse of shampoo, use the blended orange/lentil water to rinse your hair. Do not rinse out the treatment once you are done.

    • 6

Dry and style your hair as usual. The orange adds a fresh, citrus scent to your hair, while effectively helping to control the greasiness of your scalp and hair.
