Why is it that every now and then you get rolled up hairs underneath the skin so painfull there way to them out?
Symptoms of ingrown hairs include:
* A small, red, or white bump on the skin
* Pain or tenderness
* Itching
* Bleeding
* Pus or drainage
Ingrown hairs can be caused by a number of factors, including:
* Shaving, waxing, or tweezing too closely. This can damage the hair follicle and cause the hair to grow back into the skin.
* Wearing tight clothing. Tight clothing can rub against the skin and irritate the hair follicles, leading to ingrown hairs.
* Having naturally curly or thick hair. This type of hair is more likely to grow back into the skin.
* Having certain skin conditions. Some skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis, can increase the risk of developing ingrown hairs.
There are a number of things you can do to prevent ingrown hairs, including:
* Shave, wax, or tweeze in the direction of hair growth.
* Avoid shaving or waxing too closely.
* Wear loose-fitting clothing.
* Exfoliate your skin regularly.
* Use a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
If you develop an ingrown hair, you can try to treat it at home by:
* Applying a warm compress to the area.
* Using an over-the-counter ingrown hair treatment.
* Gently exfoliating the area.
If the ingrown hair is severe or does not go away, you may need to see a doctor to have it removed.
