Curetage Hair Treatment

Curetage, a line of natural hair care products, is designed to promote healthy hair growth. It uses herbs from Asian and Native American cultures to solve hair loss problems. Curetage is chemical-free and can be used on colored and permed hair. It promises results after two to three weeks of regular usage.

  1. History

    • According to P. Wayne Morris, the president of the company, the Curetage system uses herbs from Southeast Asian jungles. In the 1960s, his friend traveled to Southeast Asia and met a woman who had an herbal hair growth medicine. When he began losing hair, he and Morris searched for the plants and herbs, conducted clinical studies on them and in 1991 began manufacturing products containing the herbs.

    Effects

    • Curetage carried out a clinical study of 26 individuals aged between 29 and 68 with hair loss problems. All test subjects that finished the study completely stopped having problems with shedding within two to three weeks. Fine hair began appearing after eight to twelve weeks, which average 1/4 to 3/4 inches in length. The hair thickened and increased in length gradually. According to Curetage, 94 percent of the test subjects were satisfied with the results and decided to continue using the products.

    Products

    • The Curetage system consists of five products that have been designed to be used together to achieve better results. This is how they work, according to the company: Cleanser I and IC, shampoos with vitamins and plant extracts, clean the hair and remove excess oil. They eliminate toxins, increase circulation to the scalp and provide moisture. Purifier II spray, a tonic, fights free radicals and gets rids of impurities. Conditioner III, a conditioner, delivers vitamins to each hair strand. Revitalizer IV and IVC, leave-in treatments, volumize the hair and stimulate the movements of nutrients and oxygen in the scalp. Root Stimulator V sends blood and nutrients to hair roots, creating an environment that promotes hair growth.

    Ingredients

    • Curetage products contain no artificial colorings, preservatives and sulfates. Instead, they use plants and vitamins that deliver blood supply and nutrients to hair roots, stimulating the scalp to grow hair. Curetage products have vitamins A, C, D, E, F and H. They contain cayenne and ginger to increase circulation. Yucca, rosemary and nettles stimulate the scalp. Other plant extracts present in the products include aloe vera, burdock, chamomile, jojoba, horsetail and sage.

    Clinical Evidence

    • The clinical study was conducted by Curetage and might suffer from bias. Scientific data has not proven the efficacy of Curetage to stop hair loss or increase hair growth.
