What Are the Causes of Pimples on the Scalp & Hair Loss?
-
Causes of Pimples
-
Pimples can come from hair shaft infections, allergic skin reactions, viral infections, acne or cysts.
Hair Shafts and Bacteria
-
Pimples can also be a result of the hair shaft being clogged up. This clogging can result in a bacterial infection of the scalp called propionobacterium acnes.
Yeast and Mites
-
Other factors causing pimples on the scalp are hormonal imbalance and the presence of organisms such as yeast and mites.
Causes of Hair Loss
-
Hair loss can be caused by hair products, hair pulling/twisting, medicinal side effects, surgery, diseases, metal poisoning, damages to the hair shafts or stress.
Thyroid Disease and Cancer
-
Hair loss can also be a result of thyroid disease and cancer treatment. However, thyroid disease medicines do not cause hair loss as commonly as the cancer treatments do.
Other Factors
-
Other factors leading to hair loss are alopecia areata and traction alopecia. Alopecia areata causes hair to come out in patches. Traction alopecia occurs when the hair is tightly braided or put into tight ponytails that make the hair fall out.
