Trichotillomania is a disease in which people compulsively pull out and pluck their own hair. With trichotillomania, a person may also pull his eyelashes out, leaving them swollen and sore. Sometimes bumps and infected areas occur where the eyelashes have been pulled out.
Styes

A stye is an infection that occurs in the root of an eyelash (the follicle). It causes a red bump and extreme soreness.
