Eat more foods like cheese, oily fish, eggs, milk, fortified margarine and yogurt with Vitamin A. Vitamin A also benefits the mucus linings, strengthens your immune system and improves your eyesight in the dark. The Health Vitamins Guide advises that women and men take 5000 IU and 4000 IU per day respectively.

2
Increase vitamin E intake with plant oils like soya, corn and olive oil. Nuts, seeds and wheatgerm, which are commonly found in cereals, are also good sources of the vitamin. Vitamin E also protects cell membranes by acting as an antioxidant. The Health Vitamins Guide recommends consuming between 15 and 20 mgs a day.

3
Eat more yellow and green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, carrots and red peppers, and yellow fruits like mango and melon. The beta-carotene in these foods is converted into vitamin A. Beta-carotene should be part of a daily diet, so you will not need to make any great adjustments to take enough of the substance.
