The Facts

The drop in barometric pressure is usually caused by a cold front passing through. You can typically feel a drop in pressure just before a big storm.
Sinuses

When barometric pressure drops, it causes the pressure in the sinus cavity to press on the surrounding bone causing a severe sinus headache.
Treatment

A good over-the-counter sinus and headache relief medication is very effective. You can also use a saline solution to clear sinus cavities.
Prevention/Solution

The good news with barometric pressure is we usually have at bit of a warning that it is coming. If sinus pressure and headaches are common you can take a sinus medication at the first signs of pressure change.

Overuse of headache medications can actually cause severe headaches. This is known as Medication Overuse Headache or MOH. If you are having chronic headaches seek medical advice.
