You have had Bells Palsy 1 and half yr now. MRI negative. Took steriods acyclivir acupuncture massage elec stimulation still cant smile completely or raise eyebrow. Any suggestions?
1. Consider a second opinion from a neurologist or facial plastic surgeon. They may be able to provide additional insights or suggest alternative treatments.
2. Continue with physiotherapy. Physiotherapy can help to improve muscle tone and movement in the affected area.
3. Try Botox injections. Botox can be used to temporarily paralyze the muscles on the unaffected side of your face, which can help to improve symmetry.
4. Consider surgery. If your symptoms do not improve with non-surgical treatments, surgery may be an option. Surgery can involve repairing the damaged nerve, transferring a muscle from another part of your body to the affected area, or removing some of the tissue around the eye to make it easier to close.
