Causes and Risk Factors for Headaches
When headaches happen every day, it becomes a problem. There are many causes and risk factors of headaches that should be considered to help prevent the condition.-
Causes

Headaches are known to be caused by a number of factors, including the activity of chemicals within the brain, sensitivity of nerves in the head and genes. Other serious conditions can cause headaches, such as aneurysms, concussions, glaucoma, stroke and carbon monoxide poisoning.
Considerations

There are risk factors aside from medical conditions and the regular activities of the body that may cause headaches. Some of these include excessive alcohol consumption, lack of sleep, poor posture and stress.

Depending on the severity of the headaches, they may cause some to have trouble performing everyday activities. Headaches may also cause other complications such as fainting, trouble sleeping, extreme pain and nausea.
Treatment

The primary treatment for headaches are pain medications. If there is an underlying condition that is causing the headaches, treatment for that illness will be administered by a doctor.

While not all headaches can be prevented, some can successfully be avoided by changing certain patterns such as alcohol consumption, sleeping, eating and stressful situations.
