Uses for Eye Ice Packs

Ice is commonly used to treat swelling and bruising on all parts of the body. Eye ice packs are useful for treating eye injuries and other problems, since they mold to the contours of your face and can be attached around your head. Since eye ice packs are often filled with gel, they tend to be more comfortable and less messy than bags of ice or frozen peas.
  1. Bruising and swelling

    • The Mayo Clinic recommends ice packs to reduce swelling and relieve pain in injured eyes. Eye ice packs are especially suited for black eyes or post-operative swelling.

    Puffy Eyes

    • Puffy eyes are often caused by dehydration and lack of sleep. For a quick fix, you can wear eye ice packs for a few minutes to improve your appearance.

    Headaches

    • Place an eye ice pack on the painful part of your head to relieve headache pain. You don't have to wear the pack over your eyes; it can be used on your forehead, temples, the back of your neck or wherever you feel pain.
