What are the major signs of a heart attack?

Chest Pain or Discomfort:

1. Chest pain: This is the most common symptom and can feel like pressure, squeezing, or fullness in the chest that lasts for more than a few minutes or comes and goes.

2. Chest discomfort: Some people describe a burning sensation, tightness, or aching in their chest.

3. Pain in other areas: The pain may spread to the back, neck, shoulders, arms (especially the left arm), jaw, or upper belly.

Shortness of Breath:

1. Difficulty breathing or feeling out of breath, especially during physical exertion or while lying down.

2. Feeling the need to sit up to breathe more easily.

3. Rapid or shallow breathing.

Other Signs:

4. Pain in the arms or shoulders: This is more common in women than in men.

5. Nausea, vomiting, or light-headedness: Feeling sick to your stomach, vomiting, or fainting spells.

6. Sweating: Breaking out into a cold sweat or feeling sweaty and clammy.

7. Fatigue: Feeling extreme tiredness or weakness suddenly.

Note: Not everyone experiences all these symptoms during a heart attack. Some people may only have one or two symptoms, and others may experience more severe pain or discomfort. If you experience any of these symptoms, especially if you have a history of heart problems or risk factors, seek immediate medical attention.
