What is instantaneous heart rate?
Instantaneous heart rate (IHR) refers to the heart rate measured at a specific moment in time. It is typically expressed in beats per minute (bpm) and can vary due to various factors such as physical activity, stress, emotions, and medications.
IHR is often measured using a heart rate monitor or a smartwatch that can track the heart's electrical activity and provide a continuous reading of the heart rate. It can also be measured manually by taking your pulse for a period of 15 seconds and multiplying the result by 4 to get the heart rate in bpm.
Instantaneous heart rate provides real-time information about the current heart rate and can be useful for monitoring heart health, assessing fitness levels, and detecting any irregularities in heart rhythm.
