Can you have mini heart attacks?
Mini heart attacks, also known as transient ischemic attacks or TIAs, are not actual heart attacks and are not related to coronary artery disease. TIAs cause a temporary interruption of blood flow to the brain that affects brain cells to malfunction temporarily, causing sudden episodes of symptoms that last only a few minutes. If your symptoms last only a minute or two and clear, it is unlikely to be a heart attack. Heart attacks typically cause prolonged chest pain (or discomfort anywhere in the upper body) of more than few minutes, with no improvement even at rest.
