What are the symptoms of cardiac arrest?

The sudden loss of heart function, breathing, and consciousness is known as cardiac arrest. Symptoms of cardiac arrest include:

- Sudden collapse. The person suddenly collapses and loses consciousness.

- No pulse. If you check the person's pulse, you won't be able to find one.

- No breathing. The person is not breathing or gasping for air.

- Blue or gray skin. The person's skin may turn blue or gray, especially around the lips, fingertips, and toes.

- Lifelessness. The person is unresponsive and does not move.

In some cases, people may experience other symptoms before going into cardiac arrest, such as:

- Chest pain

- Shortness of breath

- Lightheadedness

- Nausea

- Vomiting

If you see someone experiencing symptoms of cardiac arrest, call 911 immediately and start CPR.
