What side of the heart acts as pulmonary pump?

The right side of the heart acts as the pulmonary pump. It receives deoxygenated blood from the body through the superior and inferior vena cava, then pumps it to the lungs through the pulmonary artery. In the lungs, the blood picks up oxygen and releases carbon dioxide, becoming oxygenated.
