What is the right side of heart responsible for?

The right side of the heart is responsible for pumping deoxygenated blood to the lungs. Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from the superior and inferior vena cava. From the right atrium, the blood flows into the right ventricle. When the right ventricle contracts, the blood is pumped through the pulmonary arteries to the lungs where it will be oxygenated.
