PVC stands for premature ventricular contractions and is a heart arrhythmia condition. PVC is characterized by skipped beats, pauses, or palpitations in the heart. • There are two chief types of beta blockers: selective and non-selective. Non-selective beta blockers affect the airway, blood vessels, and the heart. Selective beta blockers ignore the blood vessels and airways in the body and only affect the heart. Since PVC is a heart only condition the most effective type of beta blocker is selective.
