    Time Frame

    • Prilosec OTC is not meant to be taken for more than 14 consecutive days. Consult a physician if heartburn symptoms do not subside at the end of the two week treatment period.

    • Store Prilosec OTC away from moisture, heat and light sources, and keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.

    Drug Interaction Warning

    • According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, patients on Plavix need to consult with a physician before taking Prilosec OTC. Prilosec decreases the anticoagulant properties of Plavix by almost 50 percent.
