How to Use Sugar to Cut Acidity

You may want to cut the acidity in foods such as tomato sauce, chili or coffee if you want to avoid acid reflux, heartburn or just to improve the flavor. Sugar can be mixed with baking soda to both reduce the acidity for stomach problems and make a more palatable flavor. Mix a few teaspoons of baking soda in your sugar dish to have an acid reducing sugar pre-made anytime you need it.
