What is the definition of a hemorrhagic stroke?

A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures, causing blood to spill into the brain tissue. This can cause damage to the brain cells and lead to a variety of symptoms, including sudden severe headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, weakness or numbness on one side of the body, and difficulty speaking or understanding speech. Hemorrhagic strokes can be life-threatening and require immediate medical attention.
