How many veins and arteries are in body?

Veins

- Superior vena cava: This large vein carries deoxygenated blood from the upper body back to the heart.

- Inferior vena cava: This even larger vein carries deoxygenated blood from the lower body back to the heart.

- Coronary sinus: This vein collects deoxygenated blood from the heart muscle itself and empties it into the right atrium.

Arteries

- Pulmonary artery: This artery carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs.

- Aorta: This large artery carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body.

- Renal arteries: These arteries supply the kidneys with oxygenated blood.
