Why is acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis called Apollo 11 disease?

There is no such thing as Apollo 11 disease. However, there is a condition called keratoconjunctivitis sicca, which is better known as dry eye. This condition can be caused by a number of factors, including aging, certain medical conditions, and environmental factors.
