What are hemrodes?
Hemrhoids, medically known as hemorrhoids, are swollen blood vessels in the anus or rectum. They can be internal, external, or both. Internal hemorrhoids are located inside the rectum, while external hemorrhoids are located outside the anus.
Hemorrhoids are very common, affecting about half of all people over the age of 50. They are usually not serious and can be treated with home remedies, such as:
* Increasing fiber in your diet
* Drinking plenty of fluids
* Taking over-the-counter medications to reduce swelling and pain
In some cases, more serious treatment may be necessary, such as:
* Rubber band ligation
* Sclerotherapy
* Surgery
If you are experiencing symptoms of hemorrhoids, such as:
* Bleeding from the anus
* Pain or discomfort in the anus
* Swelling or itching in the anus
* Difficulty passing stools
Talk to your doctor for a diagnosis and treatment plan.
