Internal & External Stomach Itching

The skin of an individual can be effected by many factors, and, in some cases, the ailments of internal organs can cause symptoms in the skin. Liver and gall bladder problems that result in jaundice can cause itching.
  1. Gall Stones

    • If gall stones block the bile ducts they can raise the bilirubin levels in the blood, causing jaundice, itchy skin, pain or discomfort in the abdomen and changes in the patient's stool.

    Hepatits

    • Inflammation of the liver is another cause of jaundice and itching. This condition is most often caused by viral factors and can range in severity from mild illness to life-threatening conditions.

    Cirrhosis

    • Cirrhosis is a condition during which hepatic tissue is converted into scar tissue, causing hepatic function problems. High bilirubin content is a common ailment of the disease and of abdominal itching that accompanies it.
