Hydrogen Peroxide Treatment for Hep C
Hydrogen peroxide is a freely found chemical agent that has a number of uses. While its use as an antiseptic and dental curing agent has never been in doubt and has been used by the medical community for decades, its use in treatment of infectious diseases like Hepatitis C is less well known.-
Use of Hydrogen Peroxide
-
Some mainstream and alternative medical practitioners use hydrogen peroxide for a number of ailments. The logic for administering hydrogen peroxide as a possible line of treatment for Hepatitis C revolves round the way peroxide works. Since it is a form of oxygen that disinfects by releasing oxygen free radicals which oxidize and kill bacteria they come into contact with, hydrogen peroxide is harnessed to treat the viruses that are present in Hepatitis C. Another line of thinking is that since it is an antiseptic, the virus that causes Hepatitis C could also be one of the viruses that hydrogen peroxide kills.
The Treatment
-
According to Right Health, to use hydrogen peroxide treatment, you should begin by mixing two to three drops of hydrogen peroxide into eight ounces of distilled or boiled and cooled water. This mixture has to be consumed on an empty stomach, preferably first thing in the morning. It can also be consumed one hour before or three hours after a meal. This dosage should be increased at the rate of one drop a day till the dosage reaches 25 drops. This dose should be taken three times a day. This does should remain unaltered for three weeks, after which it has to be reduced gradually. Eventually, the dose should be brought down to 25 drops a day total mixed into two glasses of water. Take this dose for six months then further reduce the dose to 25 drops of hydrogen peroxide with one glass of water for a week. Continue to decrease your dose, going down to 25 drops in a glass of water every three days for two weeks and then once every four days for two weeks. The whole process lasts close to a year.
Does it Work
-
Medical results confirming the effectiveness of this treatment are still unavailable as of 2009. Research conducted by Thomas Look of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Timothy Mitchison of Harvard Medical School suggests that hydrogen peroxide can be useful in healing, but there are no conclusive studies which demonstrate that hydrogen peroxide, when used according to the above doses, can successfully treat hep. C. When embarking on this or other alternative treatments, it is essential you speak to your doctor and consider all the options and risks of any medical treatment carefully.
