Use larrea as a lotion or spray on your skin. For mild outbreaks of herpes, apply the lotion or spray on the affected area once a day. For more severe outbreaks, apply twice a day or as needed to relieve symptoms. In case you are suffering from a chronic or degenerative condition, apply liberally every 2 to 3 hours and cover with a gauze to help penetrate and prevent transfer to other surfaces.

Use larrea as a colonic. Prepare a tea with the plant and distilled water, place in an enema bag and use as an enema for its detoxifying properties.
