How long are herpe outbreaks?

Herpes outbreaks typically last for 2 to 4 weeks, but can sometimes last longer. The first outbreak is often the most severe and can be accompanied by fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes. Subsequent outbreaks are usually less severe and shorter in duration.
