The short term of herpes simplex?
- Fever
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Muscle aches
- Painful sores or blisters on the genitals, mouth, or other parts of the body

Primary herpes usually lasts for 2-4 weeks and may recur several times during the first year of infection. After the initial outbreak, the virus becomes dormant in the body and can reactivate later on, causing recurrent episodes of herpes simplex.
