Can you catch herpes simplez 1 if had cold sores before?
Herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1) is the virus that causes oral herpes, also known as cold sores or fever blisters. If you have had cold sores before, it means that you have already been infected with HSV-1 and have developed antibodies against it. This means that you are unlikely to catch HSV-1 again, as your immune system will be able to recognise and fight off the infection. However, it is still possible to spread HSV-1 to others, even if you do not have any symptoms yourself.Herpes - Related Articles
