      Wash your hands with soap and warm water before you attempt to treat your cold sore.

      Remove any make-up or cosmetics from your face.

      Apply ABREVA to your cold sore at the onset. ABREVA can be used the entire time you have a cold sore, but catching the cold sore at the beginning is always better. ABREVA comes in a small pump or a tube. Simply apply a small amount according to the manufacturer instructions. Allow it a few minutes to dry.

      Apply ABREVA five times a day for 10 days in order to see the best results.
