Hypertension Meds Without Side Effects
It can be hard to find blood-pressure medications that lower blood pressure effectively without added side effects. Sometimes the side effects are worse than the high blood pressure. Some herbal medications have been successful at lowering blood pressure to an acceptable level without additional side effects.-
Vitamin E & Vitamin K
-
The first and more common avenues to explore for lowering blood pressure are vitamins and minerals. Vitamin E has been found to lower blood pressure. Vitamin E restores functionality to the tiny muscles of blood vessel walls and thins the blood. This fat-soluble vitamin is found in green leafy vegetables, which incidentally, also contain Vitamin K. Vitamin K helps blood clot normally.
Garlic, Aspirin & Ginger
-
Garlic has been popularized as a vegetable to keep infections at bay, but it also helps to reduce blood pressure. Just because it smells bad doesn't mean it's bad for you. Garlic has the opposite properties of Vitamin K; it thins the blood. Aspirin thins the blood as well, but there are side effects if it is not used as directed.
Ginger, a root-borne spice, and cayenne pepper are very good at improving circulation in the blood vessels and helping the digestive system return to normal. That is why some people drink ginger ale when they are sick.
Magnesium
-
Magnesium or Magnesium Glycinatea, a silver white element, is also found in the green of plants. It also occurs naturally in bones and seeds. Magnesium is used in photography, radiology and the production of fireproof materials. It also helps regulate the electrical firing of the cardiovascular pumping system. This electrical firing helps the heart beat at an even and constant rhythm.
Folic Acid
-
Folic acid is B vitamin. It is also called Vitamin Bc or Vitamin M and is found as a factor of lactobacillus casei (good bacteria) in yogurt products. It is required for the normal production of red blood cells and the elevation of homocysteines. Homocysteines are amino acids that are catalysts in the production of important hormones, alkaloids and other life-giving substances.
Hawthorn Berry & Ginkgo Biloba
-
Hawthorne berry and ginkgo biloba are new to cardiovascular treatment. Ginkgo biloba is touted as a memory-improvement herb, but it also acts like aspirin by thinning the blood. Hawthorne berry dilates blood vessels near the heart, lowers blood pressure and cleans the blood vessels of deposits that clog passageways.
Coenzyme Q10
-
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) lowers blood pressure. Also called Ubiquinone, it is a fat-soluble hydrocarbon enzyme that supports oxygen metabolism. Having plenty of oxygen lowers blood pressure, because the heart doesn't have to work so hard to pump fresh, oxygenated blood to the rest of the body.
