Although unlikely, bosentan can cause changes in heart rate, including a racing, irregular or pounding heartbeat. This may be accompanied by dizziness, lightheadedness, confusion and fainting. Another serious side effect is edema, or swelling of the feet, ankles, lower legs and hands.
Liver Problems

Bosentan can cause serious liver problems, and doctors typically schedule regular blood tests to monitor liver function. Symptoms include jaundice, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
Pregnancy Considerations

Bosentan must not be used during pregnancy because it can cause serious birth defects.
