Side Effects of Adalat
Adalat is the brand name for the generic drug nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker prescribed to treat high blood pressure and angina. Adalat is associated with numerous side effects, most of which are temporary and not common.-
Most Common Effects
-
In clinical trials, the most common Adalat side effects were swelling or water retention in the hands, feet or legs (edema); and headaches. Edema occurred in up to 29 percent of participants and headaches in 19 percent.
Low Blood Pressure

Allergic Reactions
-
People can have an allergic reaction to Adalat. Symptoms include a rash or hives, difficulty breathing or swallowing, throat closing, facial swelling and wheezing.
