How to Use the WS820 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

The WS820 wrist blood pressure monitor, manufactured by Mark of Fitness, provides fast systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings and pulse rate data. The monitor has an easy-to-read screen and will store up to 30 blood pressure readings for two people. The WS820 wrist blood pressure monitor is easy to use and convenient for people who want to keep track of their blood pressure at home. If you are using the WS820 monitor for the first time, remember to purchase two AAA batteries.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert two AAA batteries into the WS820 wrist blood pressure monitor. Slide the cover off the battery compartment on the left side of the device. Insert the batteries into the slots provided. Replace the cover. The manufacturer does not recommend using rechargeable batteries.

    • 2

Press the "Start" button to turn the monitor on, and you will see a flashing date and time indicating that this data needs to be set. Press the M1 to increase the year or the M2 button to decrease the year until the correct year is displayed. Press "Start" to confirm. Repeat this step with the month, day and time until all the values are correct.

    • 3

Rest for five minutes before taking your blood pressure reading so you are calm and relaxed.

    • 4

Turn your left hand so your palm is facing upward. Slide the cuff onto your wrist with the screen pointing upward. Position the cuff until it's a half inch away from the bottom of your palm.

    • 5

Tighten the cuff using the velcro straps until it is snug, but not overly tight. The WS820 wrist blood pressure monitor should fit comfortably. Make sure that there is no clothing caught underneath the cuff.

    • 6

Sit in a chair with your elbow on a table and the palm of your hand facing up. Move your hand until the cuff is at the same level as your heart. If your arm gets tired in this position, you can place a folded towel or pillow underneath your arm for support.

    • 7

Take deep, calming breaths. Press the "Start" button. The monitor will automatically inflate and begin reading your blood pressure and pulse. Do not move while the monitor is working. The cuff will deflate when the test is over, and your readings will be displayed on the screen.

    • 8

Press the M1 or the M2 buttons to store the blood pressure reading in the monitor's memory. If you are sharing the monitor, designate the M1 button for one person and the M2 button for the other person. The WS820 monitor only provides enough memory for two people.

    • 9

Press the "Start" button to turn off the monitor. The monitor will turn off automatically after three minutes if you do not press the "Start" button.

    • 10

View your blood pressure history by pressing the M1 or M2 button. Continue pressing the button to scroll through your memory history. To delete a reading, press and hold the M1 or M2 button until the monitor indicates that the data has been deleted. Press the "Start" button to turn the monitor off.
