Is blood pressure the regular beat of flow?

Blood pressure is not the regular beat of flow. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries. It is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). A normal blood pressure reading is 120/80 mm Hg. The first number, 120, is the systolic pressure, which is the pressure when the heart beats. The second number, 80, is the diastolic pressure, which is the pressure when the heart is resting between beats.
