How high does your blood pressure have to be a heart attack?
High Blood pressure alone does not directly cause a heart attack. While high blood pressure (hypertension) is a risk factor for developing heart disease and other cardiovascular problems, it does not directly lead to a heart attack. Heart attacks are caused by a blockage in the arteries supplying blood to the heart, usually due to the formation of a blood clot in a narrowed artery. Hypertension can contribute to the development of heart disease, such as atherosclerosis, but other risk factors like high cholesterol, smoking, Diabetes and obesity also play significant roles.
